Letters from
England
1965-1966
By
Mary Walmsley
With contributions from her husband Roger
And their three children: Julia, Ann, and Scott
These letters were written to Mary’s parents during the year the Walmsley family lived in
England. At the time Julia, Ann, and Scott were 13, 11, and 9 years old. The family’s adventures included placement in schools, Boy Scouting and Girl Guiding experiences, learning local customs, meeting extraordinary personalities, and lots of travel.
These letters provide an entertaining glimpse into a cohesive family working as a team. After reading them, who could tell that within a decade this family would be rent asunder by divorce?
